Graffiti Mundo

Last Friday went on an awesome graffiti art tour of Buenos Aires, predominately roaming around the beautiful suburb of Palermo. Even before i took the tour, i had noticed the art all over the city, covering every blank wall of almost every building. Although it´s illegal here, street art is openely practiced, and widely accepted during the day. Which, according to our very knowledgable English tour guide, allows them more time to spend on the art, creating very different works. Not only do they practice traditional means of graffiti, like stencils, but they also use techniques like charcoal, oil and acrylic paints, including 2 and 3 dimensions.

...And i thought Melbourne had it all! For just $20, definately worth the tour! If you´re headed to BA, check out the site at www.graffitimundo.com/

As well as walking around the streets, our guide took us to different galleries of the artists, finishing at a really cool bar decorated entirely by Argentinian artists. We even had one of the graffiti guys join our tour, which was fantastic.
