A week in Kuta was fun, but only because i was with my good friend Lia, and also we preoccupied ourselves with activities outside of the commercial, overwhelming city. Despite Kuta being pretty grotty, we quickly discovered how genuine and lovely the Balinese are.

We weren't exactly warned how aggressive the monkeys were - this image is after one of them stole lia's water bottle. Amazing how they handle objects like humans! Apparently they steal belongings from tourists in exchange for food. What smart monkeys..
