Round #2 - Philadelphia

Here we are again.

Somehow i've decided to venture alone on yet another extended trip. Perhaps a more spontaneous one at that. Looking forward to the warm embrace of my dear hippy backpacker friends, homely scent of hostel sewerage pipes, and questionable-looking foods.

So far my plans are to venture around USA, Central America and Bali over 3 months. A little random i admit, but i'm trying to do a bit of everything. Most importantly i'll finally have an opportunity a practicar mi espanol.

First stop, Philadelphia. Or Amish country, depending on where your interests lie. Spent a few days checking out some living arrangements for mum and dad for when they move here next year. The realter took us round some gorgeous neighbourhoods which seem to all satisfy The American Dream. Large patriotic flags tied to open porches, exposed front lawns, little white mailboxes with red flags, cute squirrels running up the trees.. the whole shebang.
Awesome architecture - National Museum of American Jewish History
More interesting architecture
Stained-glass windows for a bus stop
"Big momma" and "big daddy" turkeys in preparation for thanksgiving

And as for the city itself? i've learnt that there's an abundance of amazing murals and old architecture, 30 000 people participate every year in the city marathon.. in winter, the liberty bell (a famous historic symbol of freedom) was built by poorly-skilled craftsmen, and that i never want to try a philly-cheese steak.
